Anxiety Counselling

What is anxiety?

We experience anxiety when we perceive or think that we are in danger. This response is great when there is an actual danger (such as seeing a tiger), but becomes a problem when the “perceived danger” is not actually dangerous (giving a talk, going out with friends, trying something new).

How do you address anxiety in counselling?

During anxiety counselling, we work with our clients to identify how anxiety shows up for them physiologically, and identify ways your body can support you instead of take-over. Our online counsellors work with you to find presence and mindfulness to do more than just interrupt anxiety. Identifying triggers and past experiences that contribute to anxiety can help create an understanding for why the anxiety is happening and support you in being in the here and now. To determine if anxiety counselling would be beneficial, book a complimentary consultation.
